Erin Richardson
In her role as Senior Vice President, Government Affairs and Counsel, Erin Richardson provides analysis and strategic guidance across the Federation teams, including regulatory and legislative policy, legal counsel, and public affairs.
With over ten years of health policy experience, Erin provides counsel on legal, regulatory, and legislative issues, including Medicare billing and payment, access to health care coverage, hospital accreditation, health information technology, privacy and security, delivery system reform, and fraud and abuse. She also provides counsel on FAH’s communications and social media. Erin staffs the Federation’s Legislative Steering Committee, Legal & Operational Policy Committee, Medicaid & Managed Care Committee, HIT Task Force, and Emergency Preparedness Task Force.
Before joining the Federation, Erin served as Senior Policy Advisor at the White House Domestic Policy Council under President Obama, focusing on Medicare, delivery system reform, and HIT. Prior to that, she was Professional Staff and Health Counsel, for the House Ways and Means Health Subcommittee where she worked extensively on the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) and the IMPACT Act. Erin also served as the Legislative Assistant for Health for Senator Sherrod Brown of Ohio and was a David A. Winston Health Policy Fellow at the Committee on Ways and Means.
Erin received her J.D. from Columbia Law School, Master of Arts in Bioethics from Case Western Reserve University, and a Bachelor of Arts in English, magna cum laude, from Wellesley College.
Erin serves on the Board of the David A. Winston Health Policy Fellowship and on the Board of the National Youth Science Foundation.
